The Mentorship Program:

The Santulan network boasts over 110+ creatives primarily located across Los Angeles and New York City who are experts in their field. Noting the underfunding of arts within middle and high school education across the United States, particularly pervading low-income neighborhoods and communities of color, we decided we would utilize our creative network as mentors who can engage students in the arts, foster creativity and promote self-expression.

Our mentors - ranging in photography, film, modeling, graphic design, painting, visual arts, poetry, creative writing, and more - are paired with students interested in one of their respective fields. Mentors engage with their students on a monthly basis for at least 4 hours in which they set up workshops to teach the basic skills of their craft and assign projects to assess student growth over time. Whether it be photographing mementos around the school yard, or learning to paint with watercolour, we guarantee that these sessions will stimulate creativity within the students and most importantly BE FUN! The time spent together may either be in-person during the school week or virtual after-school hours.
